On November 9th, the first conference organized by AASO - Associação de Apoio à Sustentabilidade da Óptica, in collaboration with CADIn - Neurodesenvolvimento e Inclusão and GRACE – Empresas Sustentáveis, took place.
The event 'Emprego Sem Distinções' dedicated special attention to two key themes:
a) Inclusion of Neuroatypical Individuals in the Job Market
b) Identification, Assessment & Employability, and Social Importance
The purpose was to raise awareness in the optical sector regarding the importance of integrating neuroatypical individuals into the workforce.
AASO extends special thanks to Prof. Dr. Assunção Cristas, Mariana Ribeiro Ferreira, and Dr. Pedro Rebelo de Sousa for the honor of opening this conference; to the panel of experts, Prof. Dr. Carlos Filipe, Dr. Mariana Fenta, and Dr. Maria Castro e Almeida, who enriched the room with their knowledge; to the participants of the 360º Testimonial, Dr. Sandra Pinho, Anabela Rolo, Dr. Inês Fortunato, and Lara Deus, for their heartfelt sharing that moved us; and to the dear Elias Neto, who impacted the room with his story and the echo he left in his closing words: 'We all have the right to work.'
